About the "Final Four" Line

On Sunday, April 26, 2009, four thoroughly immersed men (Floyd "Full Value" Long, Anthony "T-Rex" Burrows, Nathan "Superman" Lawson and Carl "Chub Rock" Jenkins) crossed the burning sands of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and became the Charter Line and members of the mighty, mighty Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter (chartered September 25, 2003) of Rockland County, NY - home of the Rockland Ques.

These brothers crossed under the guidance of the MSP chairman Bro. Tyrone Bailey and the assistant MSP chairman Bro. Byron Hurlock who were given the challenge by the Basileus, Bro. Dennis McGloster. Mentoring was provided by brothers Tony Dinkins, Scott Watson, Ed Kittrell, Richard Clarke, Gerald Inman and T. Ed McBride, Jr.

A pleasant surprise was experienced by neophyte Nate Lawson who discovered after the crossing that his cousin, Bro. Shea Lawson, Vice Basileus of Psi Pi chapter of the 5 th District in Clarksville, Tennessee, was assisting the brothers with the crossing.

There was just as much excitement in Rockland County when the neophytes crossed as there was when the chapter was founded. The same day after the crossing the residents of Rockland were treated to an Exhibition Step Show by the newly initiated neophyte brothers known as the "Final Four" at the Nyack Memorial Park in Nyack, NY.

In attendance were visiting brothers from as far east as Long Island, NY and as far north as Syracuse, NY. The show was heavily attended by members of various Greek lettered organizations, , friends and county residents that were at the park. After the show the neophyte brothers were given a party at the "Off the Hook" restaurant owned by chapter brother Richard Clarke.

Bro. Floyd R. Long, Jr. earned both his Bachelors and Masters of Business Administration from Howard University . He is an Associate Executive Director at Coler-Goldwater, a long-term care chronic hospital and nursing facility located in New York City . In January 2009, Governor Patterson appointed him to the NYS Board of Nursing Home Administrators. He is married to Glenda, his college sweetheart and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. They have a son and a daughter.

Bro. Nathan Lawson earned a bachelors degree in Pastoral Ministries from  Toccoa Falls College.  He is currently an Administrative Faculty member at Nyack College in the Division of Student Success.  Bro. Lawson has two daughters and a son.

Bro. Tony Burrows attended Bernard M. Baruch College where he earned his BBA in Finance.  He is employed with Morgan Stanley Inc. as an AVP in the Financial Control Group.  Bro. Burrows is founder and partner of BurMiL Land Acquisitions LLC NY - a real estate holdings joint venture.  He is a member of the National Association of Black Accountant where he actively recruits minority talent.  He is married to Sonia Gonzalez-Burrows and they have one daughter

Bro. Carl Jenkins holds a Masters Degree in Special Education and a BS Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. In college Bro. Jenkins was a member of the Syracuse University Football team from 1983-1987 and played in the Cherry Bowl in Detroit, Michigan. Bro. Jenkins works at Lincoln HS in Yonkers as a Special Education Educator working with emotional and learning disabled students. He also serves as the Head Varsity Football and Baseball Coach at Lincoln HS. In the summer months he can be found at Camp Rays Day Camp where he serves as the Camp Director overseeing 250 campers with a staff of 50. He is married to Tonya Couch-Jenkins, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and their have one daughter.

Prior to crossing, the neophyte brothers were actively involved in the following community service programs: participated in the Xi Lambda Lambda ROAD mentoring program, participated in the Xi Lambda Lambda Adopt-a-Highway program, visited the Summit Pak Nursing Home, tutored after school students at the Imani Cultural Academy, donated food and time to participate in the Delta Sigma Theta's Look Who's Cooking, met with elementary, intermediate and HS children once a month to discuss the assigned books at the CEJJES Institute Book Club.

 
 

About the "In Too Deep" Solo Line

On Saturday, April 3, 2010, a thoroughly immersed and enthusiastic gentleman, Nyron A. McLeish, crossed the burning sands of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He displayed courage in that he came through the mighty, mighty Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter as a Solo.

Our neophyte brother, Nyron "UNBREAKABLE" McLeish, became an Omega Man under the guidance of the MSP chairman Bro. Tyrone Bailey and the assistant MSP chairman Bro. Byron Hurlock who were given the challenge by the Basileus, Bro. T. Ed McBride, Jr., to mentor him through the MSP process. Assisting in this challenge were brothers Tony Burrows, Floyd Long, Carl Jenkins, Tony Dinkins, Scott Watson, Ed Kittrell, Richard Clarke, Gerald Inman, Newton Paul and Nate Lawson.

Bro. Nyron A. McLeish is currently employed as an Account Executive for Aetna, one of the nation's leaders in health care and a Fortune 100 Company. A seasoned veteran with 15 years in the insurance industry, He is responsible for marketing and sales to the Medicare population. During his career, Bro. McLeish gained valuable experience in the sales of international health and group benefits to the global marketplace as well as experience in claims processing. Bro. McLeish holds Accident and Health licenses in Connecticut, Maine, New Jersey and New York. In addition to a full time job with Aetna, he currently works part time for Camp Venture, a not-for-profit provider of family-like care and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. In that capacity, he supervises the direct care for a group home that focuses on severely disabled young adults.

Bro. McLeish is a graduate of Rutgers University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He also has an MBA in Healthcare Management from Long Island University. He is the proud father of two daughters.

Prior to crossing, neophyte brother McLeish was actively involved and continues dedicating time to community service programs. These programs include, Xi Lambda Lambda ROAD mentoring program, meeting once a month with CEJJES Institute Book Club and meeting once a month guiding young men involved in the New York School of Etiquette & Protocol.

 
 

About the "Centennial Warriors" Line

On Saturday, April 16, 2011, two thoroughly immersed and enthusiastic gentlemen, Joseph Parker and Antonio Desamours, crossed the burning sands of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and became the Centennial Line and members of the mighty-mighty, mighty-mighty Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter

Our neophyte brothers Joseph "MITTENS" Parker and Antonio "PAIN" Desamours, became Omega Men under the guidance of the MSP chairman Bro. Tyrone Bailey and the assistant MSP chairman Bro. Byron Hurlock who were given the challenge by the Basileus, Bro. T. Ed McBride, Jr. to mentor them through the MSP process. Assisting in this challenge were brothers Nyron McLeish, Floyd Long, Tony Burrows, Nate Lawson, Carl Jenkins, Michael Winfield, Toney Earl, Richard Clarke, Mike Peterson and Gerald Inman.

Bro. Joseph Parker is currently employed as a Senior Consultant for Atkins Engineering, an international civil engineering consultant firm. Bro. Parker has worked in the transportation-engineering field for 20 years. He specializes in intelligent transportation systems with a sub specialty of revenue collection systems, better known as E-ZPass. As a Senior Consultant and Project Manager, Bro. Parker is responsible for assisting toll agencies with the replacement and deployment of the toll collection systems. One of Bro. Parker's most visible accomplishments was as the Technical Project Manger of the open road toll facilities along the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. At the time of the opening, the implementation of open road technology was the most complicated in the United States.

Bro. Parker is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners, International Bridge Toll and Turnpike Association and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials. Bro. Parker has been very active in youth sports and has coached Little League Baseball, Pop Warner Football and CYO Basketball. Bro. Parker has also taught Sunday School at his Church, Faith Temple Church of Christ Written in Heaven in Spring Valley , NY.

Bro. Parker holds a Bachelor degree in Computing Systems from the State University of New York at Albany and a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Maryland at College Park . He is a single dad raising his two sons, Joseph II and Jordan. Bro. Parker's late wife Stephanie was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Rockland County Alumni Chapter. She entered Omega Chapter in 2009.

Bro. Parker has been actively involved in community service programs prior to crossing and continues to dedicate his time to service programs. These programs include Xi Lambda Lambda ROAD mentoring program for young men, and the CEJJES Institute Book Club.

Bro. Antonio Desamours is currently employed as an Investment Advisor with Merrill Lynch with 17 yrs. investment and banking experience. He holds Series 6, 7, 66, life & health insurance and annuity licenses to do business in six states.

Bro. Desamours was born in Haiti and is a graduate of Hofstra University . There he was a scholastic athlete playing football. He is married to his wife Lisa who is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Bro. Desamours moved back to New York after 15 years of living in Georgia where he was an active member of Cascade United Methodist Church . He served on the steering committee for the United Methodist Men. He also chaired the church golf tournament for two years to raise scholarship money for college bound seniors.

He was a member of the South Cobb Rotary Club and Vice President of the Project One Golf Academy . He served 2 terms as the President of the Powder Springs Business Association.

Bro. Desamours has continued his service to the community by attending meetings with the CEJJES Institute book club and Rockland Omega AcaDemy (ROAD) mentoring program. Bro. Desamours has visited Pilgrim Baptist Church , New York Covenant Church and Faith Temple.

 
 


About the "Treacherous Three" Line

On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 3:41pm in Jamaica, NY our three MSP candidates were initiated into the fold of our gracious organization through Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter. Our three neophyte brothers Michael Johnson Jr, Darrel Kidd Jr. and Antwan Richardson, became Omega Men under the guidance of the MSP chairman Bro. Tyrone Bailey and the assistant MSP chairman Bro. Byron Hurlock who were given the challenge by the Basileus, Bro. Antonio Desamours. Assisting in this challenge were brothers Nyron McLeish, Floyd Long, Tony Burrows, Carl Jenkins, Richard Clarke, Michael Johnson, Sr., Mike Peterson, T. Ed McBride and Gerald Inman. It was a long and challenging journey.  However, they were able to persevere and achieve the desirable effect which is TRUE BROTHERHOOD!

The journey has just begun and now they must work even harder for the chapter.  They're well aware and as a chapter we must continue to guide them and work with them as to what it means to be a TRUE OMEGA MAN!

Bro. Michael Johnson Jr. is a graduate of Hampton University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management. He is currently employed as a Production Trainee for the National Basketball Association. He is responsible for identifying elements from the NBA, WNBA and the G-League live games and events for their digital platforms. He has continued the legacy of Omega as his father is a man of Omega and his mother is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Prior to crossing, neophyte brother Johnson Jr. was actively involved and continues dedicating time to community sever programs. Those programs include Xi Lambda Lambda ROAD program, the Football Combine, the Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up, and visiting the Pine Valley Center-Rehab & Nursing. 

Bro. Darrel Kidd Jr. is a May 2017 graduate of Hampton University with a B.A. in Journalism. While studying at Hampton, Bro. Kidd played lacrosse. He was instrumental in establishing Hampton’s lacrosse program as the first HBCU to field an NCAA Division I Lacrosse Team. Bro. Kidd served as Captain for his final 2 seasons at Hampton where he led the program to its first win in program history. 

Post-graduation Bro. Kidd has been very active. He is a freelance photographer and blog writer for New York’s Hot 97 radio station. He also works as a photographer and team member of DCE Sound & Visual. Not only is Bro. Kidd very active in his work, but he also lends his time o uplift the community. He has coached and ran a series of Lacrosse clinics in Peekskill, NY where he went to High School to introduce a new sport to the inner city kids. 

Since his initiation into Omega, Bro. Kidd has joined the Talent Hunt committee, and helped orchestrate a fellowship event for the brothers. 

Bro. Antwan Richardson is currently employed as an Electrical Substation Operations Supervisor at Eversource Energy, an electrical utility that serves the Connecticut, New Hampshire and Western Massachusetts.  As the supervisor for the companies highly visible districts of Greenwich and Stamford Connecticut he leads a group of eight electricians in the maintenance, repair, safety and casualty control of 16 electrical substations providing power to 240,000 plus customers.  Prior to joining Eversource Energy Bro. Richardson was employed by DTE Energy in Detroit, Michigan as an Electrical System Supervisor responsible for operating and maintaining the continuity of electrical services for the 3.3 million customers the company serves.   Bro. Richardson enlisted in the United States Navy in 2002 as an Electronic Warfare Technician and gained his commission as an officer in the United States Navy in 2009.   He has served onboard the USS CHANCELLORSVILLE(CG-62), USS LABOON(DDG-59), USS MUSTIN(DDG-89) and USS ENTERPRISE(CVN-65) at various points of a near 14-year military career.
 
Bro. Richardson is a 2009 graduate of The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in History with an engineering core curriculum.  While at The Naval Academy he lettered in Sprint Football and became a member of The National Society of Black Engineers.  Bro. Richardson also earned his LEAN/Six Sigma Green belt while in the navy as well as many other personal and unit awards.

Prior to crossing, neophyte brother Richardson was actively involved and continues dedicating time to community service programs. These programs include, Xi Lambda Lambda ROAD mentoring program, The Boys and Girls Club of America, The Detroit Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, and efforts to feed those in need.  His passions are mentoring young men and women in his community and Navy Football.

 
 

 

On Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 3:30pm, two thoroughly immersed, well qualified and enthusiastic gentlemen, Gabriel Young and Jerome Jones, crossed the burning sands of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and became the Two UnconQUErable Souls Line and members of the mighty-mighty, mighty-mighty Xi Lambda Lambda Chapter

Our neophyte brothers Gabriel "VALOR" Young and Jerome "MORPHEUS" Jones, became Omega Men under the guidance of the MSP chairman Bro. Nate Lawson and the assistant MSP chairman Bro. Darrel Kidd, Jr.who were given the challenge by the Basileus, Bro. Michael Peterson to mentor them through the MSP process. Assisting in this challenge were brothers Nyron McLeish, Floyd Long, Tony Burrows, Carl Jenkins, Toney Earl, Richard Clarke, Michael Johnson, Sr., Charles Byers, T. Ed McBride, Byron Hurlock and Tyrone Bailey.

Bro. Gabriel Young is an accomplished Data Engineer consulting organizations to ideate and execute effective data strategies. He hails from the Bronx,NY and is a SUNY Oswego alumnus, former wrestler, and lifelong fitness enthusiast. As a deacon serving Grace Baptist Church of Yonkers, Bro. Young has served the community through annual back-to-school rallies, toy drives, feeding the homeless, seniors, and mentoring incarcerated young adult men. 
He resides with his wife Jasmine, who is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and their three children.

Bro. Jerome Jones is an IT professional of 23 years, specializing in infrastructure project management and data center technology.  He has a BS and MBA degree from Monroe College and is currently completing his doctoral dissertation from Walden University. He also holds numerous certifications including Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt), Agile, Scrum, Project Management, and Data Center technologies.
In addition, Bro. Jones is an active member of St. Charles AME Zion Church and is a licensed preacher through the Westchester District of the AME Zion Church.  He co-chairs the Men of Zion men’s ministry and is a member of the Steward Board.
Bro Jones resides in Nanuet, NY with his wife of 27 years Sixta Jones.  They have two daughters. Bro. Jones enjoys martial arts, reading, and traveling.
